The company was born in the Mahoning Valley , an area commonly referred to as “The Steel Belt of America”. Team Office, originally named Blend Office Equipment, was founded in December of 1980. The company was established during a very challenging economic time. It was only 3 years earlier; on September 19, 1977 (Black Monday), that Lykes Corporation announced the closing of the Campbell Works plant which employed nearly 5,000 workers. Unemployment reached a staggering 30% in Youngstown . This announcement was the beginning of the end of the steel industry. It was in the next several years that the people of the greater Mahoning Valley rolled up their sleeves and began to seek out new opportunities and rebuild the area.

Youngstown 's business leaders, trade unions and politicians worked together to attract newer, more modern manufacturing facilities. Small businesses began to spring into existence. Entrepreneurs uncovered new opportunities with which to create income. The economy was on a slow but sure rebound. It was at this time that Blend Office Equipment saw a unique opportunity. New businesses needed office equipment, office supplies and quality service. Office equipment was very expensive at the time and didn't easily fit into a new company's budget. Blend's commitment was simple - deliver real and ongoing value to people at a very competitive price. They made a commitment to local business owners - person to person. This was a unique concept to the office equipment industry which had generally isolated itself from the people side of things. Blend quickly grew to be one of the largest office equipment and office supply companies in the area. Most important, their reputation for honest, quality value was second to none.

By 1998 the Greater Mahoning Valley experienced significant long-term economic growth. The Valley had developed into a much stronger, more diverse economic community. We had become more of a regional community which included both Youngstown and Warren Metropolitan areas and Mercer and Lawrence Counties in Pennsylvania . New business and residential growth in Columbiana County added yet another integral part of the greater economic and suburban community. The area continued to grow. It was during this course of events that in August of 1998 Blend Office became Team Office. The commitment remained the same, to provide real and ongoing value. The “Team” concept was very simple. It provided the best support available at each and every area of the business. It also allowed sharing of resources and more specific management objectives.

Today, Team Office is an authorized sales and service center for NEC, Toshiba, Copystar, Kyocera Mita and Brother products. Team is also partnered with United Stationers, the largest distributor of general office supplies in the world. Team has contracts with major office furniture distributors which allow them to bring highly competitive pricing and programs to the table. The owners, Tom and Bonnie Reeveley, are long-time local residents. They have 3 children and are very active in our community. The business is located on Route 46, one block north of Mahoning Avenue in Austintown . The building is approximately 11,000 square feet of which Team Office presently occupies 6000 square feet. Team Office has a retail store at the front of the building. Customers can walk in and purchase general office supplies and “in stock” furniture. The 1100 square foot showroom houses a wide display of digital copiers, laser printers and fax machines. Team Office provides “walk in” repair of personal computers, typewriters and fax machines. The majority of business, however, is commercial accounts. The company motto is “Real People…Real Solutions”.

Over the past decade there were many advances in PC technology, software and network operating systems. These advances were responsible for the conversion of most business into a networked environment. Copiers became multifunctional units, having “multi tasking” capability. These units could be connected to a computer network allowing integrated copying, finishing, printing, scanning and faxing. Team's services include technical support in the area of LAN, WAN, Windows, Novell, Mac and UNIX operating systems. Team has the resources to provide the area's most comprehensive technical support of these operating systems and related digitally connected products.

From 1980 thru today many things have changed. One thing remains the same, our commitment. “We recommend only products and services which will provide real and ongoing value to our customers”.
